Artisan Produce from Leicestershire

The menu and drinks at Nine B will feature an array of Leicestershire favourites:

  • Pies handmade by family-run farmers and pie makers Brockleby’s Pies, which is famous for its PGI-status pork pies in Melton Mowbray and often wins gold at the town’s British Pie Awards.
  • Independent, family-owned brewers Langton Brewery will be supplying hand-crafted beer from its Thorpe Langton base.
  • Nine B will serve its own blend of St Martin’s Coffee, Leicester’s first specialty coffee roasters that is dedicated to sourcing coffees of the highest quality from global producers. St Martin’s will be supplying the beans as well as a coffee machine, and guests will be able to buy bags of their beans from the bar.
  • The new bar will also serve hand-produced gin from artisan distillery Two Birds Spirits, which distils in small batches of 100 bottles in Market Harborough using its bespoke, hand-built copper stills.

Masterchef Winner’s Famous British Charcuterie

In a quest to get the best quality cured meat for the charcuterie menu, Manish and Stewart have partnered with Tempus Foods, which was founded by Masterchef winner Dhruv Baker and runner-up Tom Whitaker.

They source pork from RSPCA-approved, outdoor-reared farms and use traditional methods of spicing, curing and aging to accentuate the flavours of the meat.

Using their carefully selected meats, Nine B will serve a British Charcuterie Board and Charcuterie and Cheese Board with a mature waxed Red Leicester, Keen’s Cheddar and a local blue stilton.

For the rest of the menu, the Nine B kitchen will be cooking a mix of modern dishes and traditional British classics, all made with exceptional ingredients. An all-day dining menu  offers homemade deli sandwiches – doorstop slices of bread with hot salt beef and Swiss cheese – and artisan flatbreads to share. A special small plate menu includes a delicious international mix of marinated olives and Manchego, padron peppers, spiced mahi fish, Melton Mowbray pork pies and gourmet sausage rolls.

For starters, expect pan-seared scallops with crushed pea puree and crispy pancetta, Heritage tomatoes with organic burrata and a black olive crumb, and a black pudding Scotch egg with tomato chutney.

As well as fresh fish dishes of grilled seabass and roasted cod loin, there will also be an award-winning beef and ale ‘Wild Beaver pie’, made with traditionally reared beef from Leicestershire’s Vale of Belvoir and local ale from Oakham’s The Grainstore Brewery.

21-day aged British steaks, 8oz beef burgers and a falafel and spinach burger will be cooked on the grill and can be accompanied by a selection of seasonal British side dishes, including charred Hispi cabbage, English Swiss chard with pancetta and Tenderstem broccoli.
